Welcome New NSHA Research Services Staff!

We are pleased to welcome new staff to Research Services!

Michele Chappell

Michele Chappell is the newest addition to the Research Services team and is now our Program Manager, Research Quality. She is available to assist Researchers and staff in understanding their regulatory responsibilities for their research projects. She also conducts study reviews, performs internal quality audits and assists teams during external audits.

Michele is an RN who comes from endocrinology research where she was a research coordinator for 7 years.

She has 4 children and her ideal day ends with a good book at her cottage after a run. 
Hannah Abel

Hannah Abel joins the Contracts & Grants team as the Coordinator, Contract Facilitation and Support. She facilitates industry sponsored research happening at NSHA. She helps negotiate study budgets, reviews contracts and handles contract and budget amendments.  
She came to us in July 2018 from the Interprofessional practice and learning portfolio where spent 5 years. 

She likes spending time with her family outdoors.


Sheryl-Lynn Forward

You may remember seeing Sheryl-Lynn Forward when she was with us as the executive assistant to past Vice President, Research Tom Marrie. 

She's signed on with us again in July 2018 as HR Admin Coordinator. She's helping HR Manager Judi Thompson with tasks in People Services and lending a hand with the research education program. 

Sheryl-Lynn enjoys hiking, cycling and gardening. She is a mother to an adult daughter as well as her pets.


On October 11th, 2018, the Research Education Program is holding a "Welcome to the New Faces of Research Services" education session in the RMU room from 12pm-1:00pm. If you are hoping to meet some of our new staff, this session is for you, please register to attend.
